1E Class K1 Cable is a nuclear-grade safety cable designed for use in nuclear power plants, where the highest level of reliability and safety is required.
It is specifically engineered to maintain functionality under extreme conditions, including radiation exposure, high temperature, humidity, and seismic events.
K1 cables are installed in critical areas where cables must continue to operate during and after a nuclear accident (LOCA – Loss of Coolant Accident), ensuring the safe shutdown and monitoring of the reactor.
Fully compliant with nuclear safety standards
Ensures operation of safety systems in emergency conditions
Designed for containment areas inside nuclear plants
مقاوم للإشعاع، الضغط، والرطوبة العالية
Flame retardant / fire resistant
Low smoke, zero halogen (LSZH)
Maintains circuit integrity during fire
Withstands high radiation doses over long service life
Suitable for nuclear containment environments
Designed for 40–60 years operation
Extremely low failure rate
Voltage Rating: 0.6/1kV – 6/10kV
Conductor: Copper (Class 1 / Class 2)
Insulation: XLPE / EPR / Special nuclear-grade compounds
Sheath: LSZH / Radiation-resistant materials
Fire Performance: IEC 60331 / IEC 60332
Radiation Resistance: up to 10⁶ – 10⁸ Gy (customizable)
Service Life: ≥ 40 years
Emergency core cooling system (ECCS)
Reactor protection system
Inside containment building
High radiation & high temperature zones
Nuclear cables are designed to operate safely under extreme and critical conditions:
Excellent electrical insulation performance.
Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) to minimize to toxic gas emission during fire.
Superior flame retardant and fire-resistant performance (IEC 60331 / IEC 60332).
Long lifespan design (typically ≥ 40 years)
Capable of withstanding high levels of gamma and beta radiation
The material has strong anti-aging properties (EPR / XLPE / rubber /special compounds).
Maintains stable electrical performance over long-term radiation exposure.
Continuous operating temperature: 90°C to 120°C (customizable upon request)
Short-term fire resistance up to 250°C–1000°C
Suitable for high-temperature environments such as reactor surroundings and safety systems.
Excellent resistance to moisture, humidity, and chemical corrosion
Strong resistance to vibration and mechanical stress
Moisture-proof and steam-resistant design for harsh environments
Nuclear cables are typically designed and tested according to:
IEEE 383 / IEEE 1202
IEC 60754 / IEC 61034
